Abstract: A new broadband coherent anti Stoke Raman spectral(CARS) thermoscope, consisting of a frequency double Nd:YAG laser and an optical parametric oscillator(OPO) instead of the dye laser,is introduced. In order to increase the precision of CARS temperature measurement, the slit function of the detection system is studied and determined. The precision of the system is evaluated based on the difference between the best fitting temperature of CARS spectrum and temperature of thermocouple reading. The uncertainty of the temperature measurement is less than 2% in the range of 300K~1200K.
