Abstract:
Several factors effective on the optical position and the laser output characteristics have been studied in folded resonator of high power transverse-flow CO2 laser.The optimum optical axis opsition of folded resonator has been determined by experimental method.The thermal deformation in mirrors of folded resonator has been investigated and the way which solves these problems has been discussed.

Abstract:
The effect of negative ions on the lifetime of a pulsed TEA CO2 laser is discussed.The effects of the additional H2 or CO or catalysts on the stabilities of electric discharges are investigated.Experiments show the additional H2 or CO and the catalysts to enhance the lifetime of CO2 laser.

This paper describes briefly the various factors effcting the reliability of airborne laser.On the basis of the reliability theory and by analysing the reliability of airborne laser,it puts out six kinds of reliability design measurements and has predicted and tested the reliability of one design-finalized airborne laser.

Abstract:
The CO2 laser has been used to treat cervicitis disorders since 1973. Curerrates for Ⅰ°、Ⅱ°cervicitis treated by CO2 laser have reached 99.2～100%,but vaporization of endocervicai canal or conization are especially important for the treatment of Ⅲ °cervicitis.

Described in this paper are the background and stratigic demands of "Star War" program(SDI)as well as the arguments caused by SDI in the U.S.gevernment and the public opinion.The issues on survivability of ballistic missile defense system and some key technical problems are discussed.The SDI's effects on development for sciences and techniques of America in the future and prospect are evaluated.
