Abstract
In order to meet the need of single-mode pigtailed pulse LD and its later optical amplification,a ns pulse LD drive circuit with variable pulse, frequency and power was designed by using metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistor(MOSFET) as switch.By analyzing the drive characteristic of MOSFET,a suitable grid drive circuit was used,so the pulse width and the ability to bring loads were improved.A protect circuit was designed to protect the expensive LD from over shot, sharps, arcs etc.It is concluded that the drive circuit works stably and is suitable for driving the LD.
