Abstract
In order to find high-quality stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) mediums,experiments have been performed on several full halogenated hydrocarbon liquid mediums.SBS parameters,including gain coefficient,phonon lifetime and absorption coefficient,are measured or calculated.The medium tetrachloroethylene (C2Cl4) has a gain coefficient of 9.0cm·GW-1,phonon lifetime 0.59ns and absorption coefficient 0.003cm-1.The influence of chemical construction on SBS characteristics is also discussed.
