Analyzing the propergation properties of diffraction-free beams

  • In this paper,by using the stationary-phase method the propagation properties of diffraction-free beams are analyzed in detail and compared with those of Gaussian beams.An axicon is used to produce the zeroth-order Bessel beam and then its propagation properties are studied experimentally.Theresults are consistent with the theoretical prediction.
