  • In this paper, the expressions of the far-field divergence angles of the elliptical Gaussian beam through a optical system are deduced according to its propagation properties. The collimation characteristics of elliptical Gaussian beam are studied. The place of optical system where the collimating effect should be optimal is demonstrated. And a comparison between elliptical and circular Gaussian beam is made.
