Experimental study on pulsed laser induced damage to fiber end-faces

  • In order to study the damage threshold of fiber end faces under pulsed laser condition,a pulsed Nd:YAG laser was adopted to measure the laser induced damage characteristics.The results showed that the process,the optical quality,the surface perfection of the fiber end face,the repetition frequency of pulsed laser had important effect on the damage threshold.

Abstract: In order to study the damage threshold of fiber end faces under pulsed laser condition,a pulsed Nd:YAG laser was adopted to measure the laser induced damage characteristics.The results showed that the process,the optical quality,the surface perfection of the fiber end face,the repetition frequency of pulsed laser had important effect on the damage threshold.
