双包层光纤激光器的熔接型侧面耦合器
Fused side-coupler for double-clad fiber lasers

摘要: 为了解决采用折射率匹配介质的光纤角度磨抛侧面耦合器中由于折射率匹配介质不能承受高功率密度的抽运光而分解,导致高功率抽运下侧面耦合器失效的问题,提出了采用CO2激光器制作熔接型侧面耦合器的新方法,并进行了实验验证,介绍了其实验装置和制作过程.由于熔接型侧面耦合器无需折射率匹配介质,因此能够承受很高的抽运光功率密度.在将该熔接型侧面耦合器用于高功率半导体激光器耦合实验中,获得的耦合功率达到7.2W,耦合效率优于70.5%.研究结果表明,所研制的熔接型侧面耦合器在侧面抽运的高功率双包层光纤激光器中具有很好的实用前景.Abstract: In order to overcome the decline of side-coupler under high-power pumping conditions,in which the index-matching materials cannot endure high-power light and will decompose,a novel method using CO2 laser to make fused side-coupler was introduced.The experimental equipments and making processes for such fused side-coupler was included.This kind of fused side-coupler can endure high-power light without index-matching materials.It acquired coupling power 7.23W and coupling efficiency better than 70.5%,when the fused side-coupler was pumped by a high-power laser diode arrays in experiments.These results showed that this kind of fused side-coupler was able to used in high-power side-pumped double-clad fiber lasers practically.
