Experimental research on removing optical fiber coatings using a TEA CO2 laser

摘要: 采用波长为10.6μm的高能TEA CO2激光去除SMF28光纤涂敷层,研究了激光脉冲数和能量密度与涂敷层去除效果之间的关系.实验证明,涂敷层去除厚度随激光能量密度的增加成对数增长,且在某个范围内去除效果存在一个最佳值.Abstract: TEA CO2 laser pulses,whose wavelength is 10.6μm,are used to remove coatings from SMF28 optical fiber.The relationships between laser fluence,the number of pulses and the ablation depth of optical fiber coatings are investigated.It is shown that the ablation depth of fiber coatings increases with laser fluence in logarithm way and there exists an optimum value in some range to obtain a naked fiber.
