Abstract: A stress sensitivity enhancement model of optical fiber Bragg gratings is proposed.The relationships between stress and relative shift of center wavelength and the expression of stress sensitivity coefficient of the enhanced fiber Bragg gratings are derived.The elastic modulus of the model is also put forward.It is pointed out that the stress sensitivity coefficient of fiber Bragg gratings can be enhanced by properly selecting the elastic modulus and the size of the elastic part.
