Abstract: Changes in fundamental and higher-order Gaussian beams propagating through a phase plate have been studied numerically in detail .The results have shown that the phase plate can change the field distribution and Me2 factor based on the power content definition ,even Me22 based on the second moments definition can not be improved by using the phase plate.
