Analysis of characteristic for proton exchange Ti:LiNbO3TM pass polarizers

摘要: 提出将质子交换区域做在扩钛LiNbO3光波导两侧邻近区域来获得TM模光波导偏振器的方案.用二维BPM分析计算了质子交换区域的长度、宽度等参数对器件消光比的影响,给出了数值分析结果,并得到了偏振消光比优于51dB的实验结果.Abstract: A novel method to fabricate TM pass polarizers-introducing proton exchange regions adjacent to Ti:LiNbO3 waveguide-has been presented.A two dimension BMP has been used to obtain the characteristics of the TM pass polarizer,which depend on the length,width and gap of the proton exchange region.The results of the design calculation were given.The extinction factor of 51dB was realized for TM-pass polarizers.
