Abstract: A complex achromatic λ/4 waveplate,which is composed of a λ/4 waveplate and a λ/2 waveplate,has been developed.The fast axes of the waveplates make an angle of 60 degree with eachother.The experiment shows that the complex λ/4 waveplate is chromatic at the range of 0.48-0.76λm.
