Abstract
The structure volume and energy transfer effieiency are the main design considerations of magnetic pulse compressors (MPC).Based on them, the analyses and comparisons of two optimal designs are given in this paper. It is also found that both of the total volume and loss of mognetic cores arenearly minimized for a given overall compression ratio by coupling a sufficient number of stages, eachwith a compression ratio of 2.
