Abstract
In order to obtain the relationship between processing parameters and paint removing effects,a fast axis flow CO2 laser,whose wavelength is 10.6μm,was used to remove paint from aluminum plate surfaces.The relationships between laser power density,scanning velocity,scanning channel overlapping and cleaning effects were investigated.It is shown that there exist initial cleaning threshold,complete cleaning threshold and substrate damage threshold of laser power density for laser beam to remove the paint layer,higher cleaning efficiency and better cleaning effect can be achieved when laser power is higher,larger area paint can be completely removed when the overlap between scanning channels is larger than 40%.
