  • A recurrence propagation formula of Hermit-Gaussian(H-G) beams through a paraxial optical ABCD system with an internal hard edge aperture is derived,from which the analytical propagation equation of H-G beams of any orders can be obtained,and the effect of the aperture on the propagation can studied analytically. Numerical examples are put forward to illustrate the application and advantage of our analytical results.

Abstract: A recurrence propagation formula of Hermit-Gaussian(H-G) beams through a paraxial optical ABCD system with an internal hard edge aperture is derived,from which the analytical propagation equation of H-G beams of any orders can be obtained,and the effect of the aperture on the propagation can studied analytically.
