  • The principles of chirp filtering in fractional Fourier domain are discussed in this paper. After introducing optical fractional Fourier transform into digital image processing,we present a new method to eliminate chirp noise of digital images by filtering in the fractional Fourier domain. The filtering effects of this method and conventional Fourier domain filtering are compared and satisfying simulation results are obtained.

Abstract: The principles of chirp filtering in fractional Fourier domain are discussed in this paper. After introducing optical fractional Fourier transform into digital image processing,we present a new method to eliminate chirp noise of digital images by filtering in the fractional Fourier domain. The filtering effects of this method and conventional Fourier domain filtering are compared and satisfying simulation results are obtained.
