Abstract
We examine the performance of dual header-pulse interval modulation (DH-PIM) for wireless infrared communication using intensity modulation with direct detection in the presence of both multipath intersymbol interference (ISI) and additive white Gaussian noise. We investigate the symbol structure, bandwidth requirements and error probability of DH-PIM. Results are compared with other modulation schemes,OOK,PPM and DPIM.
