  • Within the framework of the paraxial approximation the matrix decomposition and equivalent transformation of misaligned optical systems are studied in detail based on matrix method in optics.It has been shown that any 3×3 ABCDEF augmented matrix,which describes a misalighed optical system,can be represented by an ordered product of basic matrices of ^α,^β and ^δ types.

Abstract: Within the framework of the paraxial approximation the matrix decomposition and equivalent transformation of misaligned optical systems are studied in detail based on matrix method in optics.It has been shown that any 3×3 ABCDEF augmented matrix,which describes a misalighed optical system,can be represented by an ordered product of basic matrices of ^α,^β and ^δ types.
