Abstract: A novel polarization-independent beam-splitter made of birefringent crystal plate is provided.Choosing the thickness of the plate and orientating the optical axis properly, the ratio of reflected and transmitted light can be a constant and irrelative to polarization of laser output. The general analysis and experimental measurement of a quartz plate is introduced. The fluctuation of the ratio is limited within 0.2 dB with the variation of incident polarization azimuth.
