  • The article presents our experimental procedure which a Ti-C alloy layer is formed in 20# steel surface with a laser scanning at the variable scanning speed.The characteristics of the alloy layer, for example microstructure,phase morphology,hardness and resistance to abrasion,are examined and analyzed.The results show that the microhardness and resistance to abrasion of the alloy layer are remarkably improved,the laser scanning speed greatly influences the microstructure and its features.

Abstract: The article presents our experimental procedure which a Ti-C alloy layer is formed in 20# steel surface with a laser scanning at the variable scanning speed.The characteristics of the alloy layer, for example microstructure,phase morphology,hardness and resistance to abrasion,are examined and analyzed.The results show that the microhardness and resistance to abrasion of the alloy layer are remarkably improved,the laser scanning speed greatly influences the microstructure and its features.
