  • The experimental Procedure for the TiN laser alloying in the carbonic steel surface by using a CO2 laser is described. A comprehensive analysis of the phase structure, the phase morphology, the distribution profile of the alloying elements, the hardness, and the resistance to abrasion of the alloyed layer after laser treatment is introduced. The results indicate that TiN laser surface alloying will give many strengthening effects on the carbonic steel surface. The characteristic of the base metal surface can be greatly ameliorated.
