  • Four types of parallel beam-splitting polarizer are provided using a birefringent crystal. The features of the devices are large displacement, high extinction ratio, high transmittance and small splitting angle. They are expecially designed for the usage of optical switch and modulating systems, and with calcite as an example, the properties of several differet designs are compared.
