  • Applying the rate equations to a train of strong pulses through a travelling-wave semiconductor laser amplifier(TWA) a simple first-order differential equation has been derived to determine the output pulse or the singal gain of the TWA. Meanwhile, the carrier densities before any one pulse arrives at the gain medium and after the pulse leaves the TWA can easily be obtained.

Abstract: Applying the rate equations to a train of strong pulses through a travelling-wave semiconductor laser amplifier(TWA) a simple first-order differential equation has been derived to determine the output pulse or the singal gain of the TWA. Meanwhile, the carrier densities before any one pulse arrives at the gain medium and after the pulse leaves the TWA can easily be obtained.
