High-speed photograph of Q-switching laser induced breakdown on solid surface

  • Received Date: 1988-10-21
  • By using optical path delaying set-up, the instantaneous process that a Q-switching YAG laser induces breakdown on solid surface is studied. Time-resolved shadowgrams and Mach-Zehnder interferograms of the initiation(within 200ns) of the shock-wave and plasma which is produced in this process are obtained firstly.plasma refractivity and electron density on the "shock-wave front are computed.

Abstract: By using optical path delaying set-up, the instantaneous process that a Q-switching YAG laser induces breakdown on solid surface is studied. Time-resolved shadowgrams and Mach-Zehnder interferograms of the initiation(within 200ns) of the shock-wave and plasma which is produced in this process are obtained firstly.plasma refractivity and electron density on the "shock-wave front are computed.
