Investigation of CO2 laser parametric unconversion

  • The opresent paper first reports investigation results of CO2 laser upconversion in an AgGaS2 crystal into near infrared radiation detected by an avalanche photodiode SPD-052. A value of the noiseequivalent power (NEP)~3.8×10-8W, or the normalized detectivity (Dλ#)~1010cmHz1/2W-1 has been obtained. The power conversion efficiency of type Ⅱ noncollincar phase matching is estimated to be 10%.
