Gain characters of CuⅡ laser oscillation studied with rad ation measurement

  • Received Date: 1987-08-10
  • The laser osillation of Cu Ⅱ 740.4nm(6SD3-5P3P230)line is obtained with the full metal copper hollow cathode laser designed by the authors. To study optimum condition of laser operation, gain characteristic of the line is measured with radiation measurement under a variety of exciting condition.Measuring results are discussed. The authors come to the conclusion that gain of CuⅡ740.4nm is maximum when He:Ar equals 4:1 in the case of He-Ar-Cu discharge. The conclusion is in good agree with practical laser output characteristic.
