Research of laser pointing method of shipborne weapons

Abstract
There are several problems of the present laser pointing system of shipborne weapons,such as small imaging spot and its possibility deviating from the field of view under dynamic conditions.In order to overcome the disadvantages,a graded index optical waveguide was used to extend the imaging laser in one dimension perpendicular to the propagating direction.The laser beam was extended in only in one direction,keeping invariable in the other direction.Experiments on the modified system show that the point performance of the extended beam is good.
