Pan Wei, Zhang Xiaoxia, Luo Bin, Lü Hongchang, Chen Jianguo
2001, 25(6): 445-448.
Abstract:
A novel appro ach to achieve single frequency, widely tunable semiconductor laser oscillation is put for ward. One appropriate candidate is a fiber ring semiconductor laser( FRSLs) with a semiconductor gain medium and an external cavity. The threshold current and output power with tuning wavelengths of FRSLs is experimentally studied. The sing lemode oscillation is demonstrated and dynamic tuning of FRSLs is realized. The output optical pulses have been tuned over a wavelength range of 36nm. The analysis confirms that there is an optimum coupler splitting ratio to trade off between wavelength tuning width and output power. The experimental results ar econsistent with theoretical simulation results.

Wei Huajiang, Li Xiaoyuan, Liu Xiaoxing, Wei Dongji, Tan Runchu
2001, 25(6): 460-463.
Abstract:
The diffuse reflectance and transmittance of rabbit arteries and veins are studied with the help of Ar+ laser. The measurements are performed with two standard integrating sphere systems.Based on Kubelka Munk model and experiments, the absorption coefficient, scattering coefficient and the changes of total optical intensities I(x),forward scattering flux i(x),backward scattering flux j(x) as a function of thickness of rabbit arteries and veins have been evaluated and analyzed.Measurement results show that there is significant difference of reflectance and transmittance between arteries and veins at 488.0nm wavelength of Ar+ laser. At the same time, the absorption coefficient of arteries is obviously lower than that of veins and the scattering coefficient is much higher than that of veins.Although total optical intensities I(x),forward scattering flux i(x),backward scattering flux j(x) are functions of thickness of rabbit arteries and veins respectively, there are obvious difference between arteries and veins.
