Abstract:
Numerical calculations have been performed to describe the propagation of super-Gaussian(SG)beams and the changes in the intensity(amplitude)distribution and phase behavior. The condition has been discussed, under which SG beams preservet heir shape and order, while passing through paraxial optical systems.

Ren Enyang, Chen Tieli, Lin Yu, Li Junchang
1997, 21(4): 210-214.
Abstract:
We solve the heat conduction equation with semi-infinite boundary condition and present a mathematical model to emulate the relationship of the technical parameters ω(beam radius),ν(scanning speed)and P(laser power)of phase transformation processing to depth and width of the hardened region. The comparisons of emulation with tested results show that the average relative errors of width and depth of hardened region are 3.7% and 18.7%,respectively.This results are meaningful for better selection of technical parameter.

Measurements of temperature distribution in a counterflow diffusion flame by USED CARS
Zhao Jianrong, Li Chunjin, Yang Shirun
1997, 21(4): 218-222.
Abstract:
This paper reports that temperature distribution profiles in forward stagnation and wake region of CH4/AIR counter flow diffusion flame have been measured by USED CARS.The pyrolysis zone of CH4 is observed at the side with rich CH4 in the stagnation region. The flame temperature in wake region is higher than that in stagnation region. This means there are intermediate products that did not burned completely in the stagnation region. It is proved by emission spectra of C2 and CH4 in wake region, too.

1997, 21(4): 223-226.
Abstract:
Since the first ruby laser had been employed in ophthalmology, with the rapidly develo ping of laser technology and appearance of novel laser, the study of the laser eye effects has been getting to be wide and depth. And the lasers are wide used in eye medicine. The aim of the article is to summarize the advance about laser eye effects and laser eye medicine and to deal with the laser ocular damage thresholds, laser flashblind, accident ocular laser burn cases, laser eye effect basic studies and laser applications in ophthalmology.
Complex transformation and geometrical optics method of Gaussian beam
Lin Juan, Guo Fuyuan
1997, 21(4): 227-230.
Abstract:
In this paper, starting from triangle expressions of complex parameters and Fresnel number of Gaussian beam, the method of complex fraction linear transformation is employed to derive the similar geometrical optics formula of Gaussian beam' complex parameter transformation. The conceptions of conjugation, exchange and inverse evolve point pair are used to explain the transformation properties of Gaussian beam.

Sun Zhaohui
1997, 21(4): 236-239.
Abstract:
This paper describes the animal experiment and clinical application of different kinds of lasers affecting respectively deferent duct or testis. It showed that laser could produce a series of biological effects and achieve male birth control. And the result was reliable and the operation was simple. Thus the author considers that vas deferens,if irradiated with argon-laser which is conducted by the optical fibre, will be coagulated by the fibre spots, which can’t influence the peripheral tissues of vas deferens and such side-effects as adhesion and oedema will greatly decrease.
