1996, 20(5): 263-266.
Abstract:
In order to obtain the homogeneity of pulse discharge at the high pressure,a X-ray preionization source for excimer lasers is introduced in this paper. The X-ray results from the impact of accelerated electrons against a Tatarget. The shorter the wavelength of X-ray is,the ability of the preionization is much stronger. With the X-ray preionization source, the preionization electrons density of 2.9×108cm-3 can be obtained in He:Xe:Fe mixed gas atmosphere.

1996, 20(5): 266-268.
Abstract:
This paper presented a method for measurement of radius of curvature of a cylindrical lens. While a laser beam goes through a cylindrical lens, the divergent angle width can be precisely determined with a high resolution CCD and a data microcomputer processing system. Then the radius of curvature of the cylindrical lens also can be calculated out. In practical application, measuring accuracy is high up to 2%.

Abstract:
A multipass ring resonator, that the all annula reflective surface of two ring mirrors can be decomposed into many ring resonators, is introduced in this paper. The analysis and theoretical calculation show that this resonator has better operation properties and output mode.

1996, 20(5): 281-284.
Abstract:
In this paper, the control technique of optical chaos, also called the period windows technique, with the relative technique of searching and locating of the period windows is presented explicitly to solve the usual difficulty of looking for the period windows in experiment. The period windows controlling technique can be easily used in optical system for chaos control, especially in the higher output, low input system without any accessory device to get the non chaos output. In computer imitation experiment of the chaos control of optical second harmonic output, the strong period second harmonic output obtained. This fact shows that this technique is much better than usual method.

Pu Zhaoming, Yin Jianping, Gao Weijian
1996, 20(5): 294-298.
Abstract:
In terms of the typical structure in frequency spectrum of Zeemen He-Ne laser, a time-spectrum formula g1(τ) (the degree of first order temporal coherence) of the double frequency Zeemen laser is derived, considering of the longitudinal mode frequency drift. These research results show that:(1) because of the effect of line width, the time coherence g1(τ) has the variation of period τ0= 1/Δνolr,(2) the variation of time-spectrum of g1(τ) is relative to frequency drift of double frequency mode; (3) the time-spectrum characteristics of g1(τ) can be used in the measurements of the laser parameters or the frequency stabilization of the double frequency lasers.

Zhang Guoping, Ye Jiaxiong, Li Zaiguang
1996, 20(5): 301-304.
Abstract:
In conventional mode selection method, the mirrors often used in laser cavity. In this paper, a new method that the diffractive optical elements, such as the diffractive mirrors, are used to substitute the traditional spherical mirrors is introduced. According to spectrum theory, the function of mode selection of diffractive mirrors is analyzes. Experimental results show that the properly selecting the cavity length and the aperture of the diffractive mirrors can obtain the higher diffractive loss ratio of 1:430 between the fundamental mode and TEM01 mode.
