Abstract:
This paper analyzes theoretically the mechanism of magnetic switch for excimer laser,in detail, and points out that the main factors of effecting of operating characteristics of multistage LC magnetic switch are the match of saturation inductance and unsaturation inductance of stages, properly selecting of capacitors and section area of magnetic switch.Corresponding to this analySis,the principles ofdesigning of magnetic switch are concluded.A new magnetic switch is developed, which has high output power over 1kW,effectiveness 88.6%,pulse width 80us.

Zhang Bin
1996, 20(1): 14-19.
Abstract:
In this paper,by using the stationary-phase method the propagation properties of diffraction-free beams are analyzed in detail and compared with those of Gaussian beams. An axicon is used to produce the zeroth-order Bessel beam and then its propagation properties are studied experimentally.Theresults are consistent with the theoretical prediction.

Abstract:
The crystal structure, spectrum properties and laser performances of a Cr4+-doped YAGare introduced systematically in this Paper. We also expound the limitation in tuning range and lasingproperties by the excited-state absorption, the polarization and the Passive Q-switch behavior by saturation absorption.

1996, 20(1): 26-29.
Abstract:
The object of the paper is to introduce the new phenomena of gas sensing optical transmission of SnO2:TiO2 two-dimension film of thickness less 1μm,and the phenomenon is much differentfrom the Phenomena of thickness 10pm.When the concentration of the combustible gas is lower, thetransmission spectra of the film move towards short-wave with the increasing of the gas concentration. And in higher gas concentration, the transmissivity increase with increasing of gas concentration.

1996, 20(1): 29-31.
Abstract:
A complex achromatic λ/4 waveplate, which is composed of a λ/4 waveplate and a λ/2 waveplate, has been developed. The fast axes of the waveplates make an angle of 60 degree with eachother. The experiment shows that the complex λ/4 waveplate is chromatic at the range of 0.48-0.76λm.

1996, 20(1): 50-52.
Abstract:
Gas life is an important factor for operation of excimer laser. The gas lifetime of the XeCl excimer laser is mainly dependent on the ingredient of halogen gas and the actinic absorption. In experimental study,HCI gas was added when laser output reduced to 70%.Filially,the relationship of laser output and HCI additive was obtained. The experimental results show that the gas lifetime can be prolonged with the HCI gas additivc.
