Qiu Junlin
1994, 18(2): 86-91.
Abstract:
This paper presents the beam mode, some methods for evaluating beam quality. As put forward by International Organization for Standardization, here the method to use beam propagation factor M for evaluating beam quality has been discussed. The influences of laser beam quality and the thermal effect of lens on the laser welding, cutting and laser processing are also described.
Approximation of weak Gaussian aperture and phase conjugate resonators
Sun Nianchun, ChengJie, Yang Zhiming
1994, 18(2): 92-94.
Abstract:
This paper addresses that no determinate mode exists in phase conjtigate resonator under the approximation condition of weak Gaussian aperture. Only if the un-weak Gaussian aperture is in front of a phase conjtlgate mirror or in the resonator, the phase conjugate resonators have determinate operation mode.
Effect of focus on conversion efficiency of second harmonic
Huang Miaoliang, Shen Hongyuan
1994, 18(2): 95-98.
Abstract:
In this paper, the output power of second harmonic versus the focus length of the lens and the position of extracavity frequency doubling crystal has been investigated by using a KTP crystal in 1.0795 μm TEM00 mode Nd:YAP laser. The experimental results show that here are a optimum focusing and a optimum positioil of the crystal to obtain the maximum output power of the second harmonic.
Spatial-temporal characteristic of atmospheric perturtiom and adaptive optics correcting phase distortion
Song Zhengfang
1994, 18(2): 99-105.
Abstract:
The relation between spatial-temporal characteristic of atmospheric perturbation and several parameters of adaptive optics system is analysed in this paper. Some altitude-distribution models of atmospheric turbulence intensity and wind velocity are presented. According to these medels the atmospheric coherence length, the coherence time and the isoplanatic angle are calculated. The internal errors of an adaptive optics system are discussed. The typical value of each error is indicated. The Strehl ratio of the system is considered in last.

Jiang Lingzhen, Liu Haijiang, Li Chenjiang, Zou Lixun, Geng Wanzhen
1994, 18(2): 106-109.
Abstract:
On the basis of the theory of holographic interferometry and fracture mechanics, the transveres strain at the tip of crack typeⅠ is studied. With the holograph of the strain field of crack tip,the strain curves are quantitatively analyzed, and the results are basically in agreement with the data obtained by fracture mechanics.
Study of laser smelting-cladding WC-TiC-SiC-Co on carbon steel surface
Zhang Siyu, Wang Biben, Zheng Kequan
1994, 18(2): 110-113.
Abstract:
This paper presents the experimental research of smelting-cladding WC-TiC-SiC-Co on 20# steel surface by using a high power CO2 laser. The physic phases analysis of the treated cladding layer are made. A scanning electronic microscope is used to observe the microstructure at the different scanning speed, and the hardness and anti-abrasion are tested. The formation mechanism of the laser smelting-cladding layer is discussed. The experimental results indicate that the WC-TiC-SiC-Co cladding layer on low carbon steel surface greatly improves the mechanical performance of the steel surface.
Wear behaciour and microstructure of laser processed low carbon steel surface with chrmium plating
Huang Yong
1994, 18(2): 114-118.
Abstract:
To improve the surface performance,a 2.5kW CO2 CW laser has been used to modify the surface microstructure of low carbon steel. The surface microstruc-ture depends upon the processing parameters. By using a scanning microscope to observe the surface wear behaviour,it is found that laser radiation and rapid solidification can greatly improve the surface microstructure and increase surface hardness and anti-abrasion.
