Laser guide stars for adaptive optical system with partial correction
Yan Jixiang, Zhou Renzhong, Yu Xin
1993, 17(2): 65-68.
Abstract:
In this article, the number of the artificial guide stars and the brightness of the guide stars used in the partial-correction adaptive optical system with 0.5 Strehl rate(or 0.13 residual rms wavefront error over the subaperture) have been presented. Comparing to the correspondent results of the conventional system, we find that the partial correction system is simple and easy to realize.

Sun Nianchun, Qu Kunhong, Chen Tao, Li Yiping, Deng Chongjun, Liu Xuejun, Lü Baida
1993, 17(2): 75-77.
Abstract:
Based on the conditions that the transverse amplification and the point source position of unstable resonator must be the real number, we have demonstrated the unstable conditions of the Gaussian reflectivity mirror(GRM) resonator and point out that using the GRM resonator is impossible to form an unstable resonator.
Coating of resonator mirrors for near-infrared laser oscillation Na2
Liu Jincheng, Wang Qi, Ma Zuguang
1993, 17(2): 78-82.
Abstract:
In this paper, the designing and coating of special film system for near-infrared laser oscillation of Na2 are reported. In 1988, with this film, laser oscillation of the lowest triplet transition of Na2 was obtained for the first time.

Zhu Tuo, Zhang Yixin, Sun Haijin, Wang Yawei
1993, 17(2): 83-87.
Abstract:
In this paper, the correlation functions and spectrum functions of the laser scattering light in colloid for monodisperse system are demonstrated. These functions are based on the classical electromagnetic field theory and Brownnian movement. Under the condition of long time, the approximate expressions are presented too.

Lan Ge, Zhao Gang, Gu Yanhua, Wang Xinbang, Hou Tianjin, Jang Dong, Qu Qianhua, Dong Min, Lü Beida
1993, 17(2): 90-92.
Abstract:
In this paper a broad waveguide CO2 laser excited transversely by radio frenquency(RF) is presented. The size of the waveguide is 2mm×30mm×400mm. Laser output power is over 100W and the efficiency is about 10%.
Research of dispersion properties of reflective grating
Chen Tongsheng, Nan Xingju, Liu Yaolan
1993, 17(2): 93-96.
Abstract:
This paper analysis the dispersion features of various gratings and presents the concept of the RGTD(reflective grating time dispersion). On this basis, the first order diffraction formula of the optical pulse is demonstrated.

Design of a parabolic defocusing GRIN fiber lens for laser beam transformation
Liao Tingdi, Huang Yantang
1993, 17(2): 97-101.
Abstract:
Based on the ABCD matrix and Gaussian beam propagation theory, the Gaussian beam transforming formulas through a parabolic defocusing GRIN fiber lens are derived. The design principle of this defocusing fiber lens used as laser beam transforming device and application in an expanded beam coupling system are discussed.

Cai Huanfu, Zeng Chun
1993, 17(2): 102-106.
Abstract:
A automatic null light instrument for measuring transverse magnetooptic Kerr effects with high sensitivity is introduced in this paper. The instrument can be used in the area of surface analysis, and we have applied it in studying the magnetic garnet films.
Crystal growth and properties of Ti:Al2O3
Chen Qinghan, Zhou Qingmu, Zhao Sniping, Huang Jinrong, Li Hanlin, Luo Fei
1993, 17(2): 107-111.
Abstract:
In this paper, we report a high optical quality crystal Ti:Al2O3 grown with the use of Czochralski method. The effect of growing and annealing techniques on the crystal quality has been discussed. At the room temperature, we obtain 6.4mJ laser output(at 780nm wavelength), using Ti:Al2O3 laser rod 14.8mm long and a resonant cavity with the dispersion elements while a double frequency Nd:YAG laser(532nm wavelength, 35mJ output power) excites the laser. The laser efficiency is high up to 18%.

Beam characteristics of the four-mirror ring resonator with an internal thermal thin lens
Lin Bizhou
1993, 17(2): 120-124.
Abstract:
The 8-shaped 4-mirror ring resonator containing two flat mirrors and two concave mirrors is widely used in color center lasers, laser gyroes and other research fields. With the model of a thermal thin lens, we give an equivalent linear cavity to analyst its beam characteristics. The thermal influences on its basic properties are discussed in detail. And the insensitive condition of the 4-mirror ring resonator to thermal thin lens is given. The results are useful to guide the resonator design and its application.
