Chen Yuqing, H. J. Eichler
1991, 15(1): 1-4.
Abstract:
Operating characteristics of UV Cu+ ion lasers with helical hollow cathodes have been investigated. The UV outputs of the lasers with different helical structures have been measured. A maximum peak power of 660mW at 260.0nm was obtained with a helical hollow cathode of 1.2m length, 6mm inner diameter and 9mm coil pitch.

Yang Dalin, He Yaokun, Shi Shunsen
1991, 15(1): 9-13.
Abstract:
A acousto-optic Q-switched continuous DC discharged waveguide CO2 laser has been developed for the first time by using a germanium single crystal as acousto-optic medium. The pulse repetition frequency of the Q-switched laser can be freely adjuted from 0 to 200 kHz. The performance of the laser is described.

A new technique for combining, shaping and isolating laser diode beams
Gong Mali, Xu Duanyi, Pan Longfa, Jin Guofan
1991, 15(1): 14-17.
Abstract:
A new multi-beam combining and shaping technique is proposed for laser diodes(LDs) with the advantages of simplicity and almost no-limited beam's number. With considering the optically feedback noise of LD,the polarization isolating unit batween feedback lights and LDs has been analysed so as to gat the technical requireinents during designing, manufacturing and adjusting.
The study of half-shade polarization prisms
Li Guohua, Wu Huayou, Yu Dehong
1991, 15(1): 17-21.
Abstract:
The half-shade Polarization prism is an important device for determining and measuring accurately the azimuth of a beam of Plane Polarized light. In this paper, the theoretic analysis of the device was given systematically. Experimental test of the half-shade Polarization prism was made. The results show that the setting precision agrees well with the theoretic design.
Study of TiN laser alloying in the carbonic steel surfaces
Zheng Kequan, Zhang Siyu
1991, 15(1): 21-24.
Abstract:
The experimental Procedure for the TiN laser alloying in the carbonic steel surface by using a CO2 laser is described. A comprehensive analysis of the phase structure, the phase morphology, the distribution profile of the alloying elements, the hardness, and the resistance to abrasion of the alloyed layer after laser treatment is introduced. The results indicate that TiN laser surface alloying will give many strengthening effects on the carbonic steel surface. The characteristic of the base metal surface can be greatly ameliorated.
The numerical value solutions of dye Q-switch laser rate equations
Yang Jimin
1991, 15(1): 25-32.
Abstract:
In order to obtain the numerical value solution of a dye Q-switch laser rate equation. It is necessary to divide the Q-spoiling process into four stages and solve them with the aid of computer respectively. These four stages are:1.initial process, 2.prelasering process, 3.dye bleaching process, 4.giant pulse process. The solutions which we obtained coinside with the exparimantal results very well. This method is similar to simulate experiment and it can be used for laser engineering design.
Dosage calculation on the heat effect of skin irradiated with low level CO2 laser
Guo Fuyuan
1991, 15(1): 33-35.
Abstract:
From the plane semi-limitless one-dimensional active heat diffusion equation and biochemical reaction rate equation, the maximum dosage of defocusing CO2 laser irradiation for skin tissue are derived. The relationships between the laser dosage, temperature increasing and biochemical reaction rate are analyzed. Finally, the mechanism of CO2 laser temperature effects on open-wound skin tissue is discussed.

1991, 15(1): 36-38.
Abstract:
In this paper, the coherence between incident light waves in four wave mixings (FWMs) in photorefractive crystals are discussed. Its effects on FWM experimental characteristics are analyzed. The experimental results are given, which prove the correctness of theoretical analyses.
